| | Wireless/Wired Network Issues by

I have two desktops (Win XP) wired to a router, plus on laptop (Win XP
Pro) wirelessly connected to the same router. In addition, I have a
DSL modem connected (wired) to said router.
The two desktops are able to connect to the internet and share files
and print from the same printer. The laptop can "see" the network, but
won't connect to the internet or share files and printers with...

| | SPA-2000 dial plan question by
Ivor Jones
Hi All,
Can anyone remind me of the site(s) where Sipura dial plans are listed..?
At work we use BT Featurenet which is basically a virtual PBX where a
bunch of direct exchange lines can call each other using just the last 4
digits of the PSTN number (and the calls are free) with a 9 being required
to dial out to the rest of the world.
I want to set up a dedicated number that /appears/ to...

VoIP phone connected to PC via crossover Ethernet cable
First time user, I bought gradwell.com's VoIP service this week, and
works perfectly with X-Lite behind a broadband router (Virgin Media
aka NTL - 1 IP) but now I want to buy a dedicated hardware VoIP phone
(Snom 370). I'd like to the Snom phone to my PC via cross-over

| | Linksys 3102 connections? by
Brian
Having just acquired a 3102 I am looking to connect to voip.co.uk
(free daytime 01/02 calls). How should I set the unit up, out of the
box? Does it go in between the PC and the router (netgear DG834 v3
wired) ?
Don't have any settings for Voip yet as I am waiting for them to get
back to me, but initial setup would be nice.
TIA.

| | Anyone using VOIP on Virgin 2mb Cable Broadband? by
Brian
Anyone using VOIP on Virgin Cable Broadband?
If so how are you finding it, and how long have you been using it?
Thinking of dumping the cable phone package, BT and going over to VOIP
only, with my mobile for emergencies.
What do you think?

| | ATA by
Datemas
Iw ould be most grateful if someone be kind enough to point me to a
source for an ATA (unlocked) which would allow me to use either a PSTN
line or a VOIP provider, such as Voipcheap, via broadband.
I have done some searching by the usual means but find the best source
for this sort of information, backed by personal experience, is on this
newsgroup.

Hi Folks,
Where are you buying your Fitzboxes these days? Best price I can
currently see for an AVM FritzBox Fon ata (1020) is £71.99 - any better
deals out there, or other models worth looking at - open to suggestions.
Thanks

| | Moving Home by
Roger Morton
Hi
Please be gentle - I'm no expert :-(
We currently have Virginmedia broadband with a Sipura 3000 using
voip.co.uk. All works fine.
We're about to move to a non-cabled area, so we're also signing up for
a BT line, and their ADSL package, so we can get them to do a 'home
move' once we're ready.

| | Call cost comparisons? by
Mike the unimaginative
Is it me? Or is it very difficult to compare call costs between VOIP
operators and PSTN / CLI operators?
The charging times and the call rates are bad enough, but with
(particulalry) BT's 'set up' cost per call make things worse!
What I'm looking for is a straightforward to use site that lets me put in a
typical call scenario (01 number at 7pm lasting 5 minutes) to get a cost.

Hi
I'm afraid I'm only just getting into this VOIP stuff, but am well
impressed so far!
I'm using a laptop with X-lite software, with sipgate which has given me
a UK phone number.
When I take the laptop to the US, ideally I'd like to have a US VOIP
phone number to use in parallel to the UK one, for the benefit of

Hi all,
After lots of deliberation re a replacement router and wanting to try
a hard VoIP solution I ended up with a Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 1740.
Luckily had emailed AVM TS and I was advised how you enable the cable
(rather than ADSL) use but in spite of this info it still took a
couple of goes to fully understand how it all worked. (The email
suggested plugging the WAN cable into 'LanA' but my...

| | New user questions about VOIP by
Lem
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to VOIP and I would like to ask
the specialists here for some pointers.
---
The FAQ I tend to read (eg http://www.voipfaq.net/types+of+voip.php)
do not really help me understand if I would find VOIP is either more
convenient or cheaper than what I have now.
(a) I work at home and have 2 MB cable internet.
