| | Sipgate now offering 020 3 numbers by
Ivor Jones
For anyone interested, Sipgate are now offering 020 3 London numbers.
Also 020 8 numbers are now available, but they seem to have run out of 020
7 ones..!
Although the site still (wrongly) lists them as 0203 (Inner) and 0208
(Outer) London..!

| | ENUM on the Fritz!box 7050 by
John Miller
Hi,
I have both a German and an English Fritz!box 7050. On the English version
(firmware 14.04.26) there is "ENUM" option, which is missing on the German
version (firmware 14.04.25)... Isn't that strange? I always thought the
German version had more options...
I guess I have to use something like Voxalot then, on the German one, in
order to have ENUM?

| | Linksys PAP2T - calling out on line 2 from line 1 by
Ian Richardson
How can I configure a Linksys PAP2T and/or dial a prefix on a phone
connected to Line 1 such that an outgoing call goes out on Line 2?
I've just set up voiptalk.org successfully for incoming and outgoing
calls (at ****ing last!), after being ditched by voxbone as they don't
support personal customers. However, I'd like to use voipcheap.co.uk for
outgoing calls.
I've configured line 2 for this....

| | Skype prime availability by
Nick Kew
Someone in another group suggested "skype prime" might meet
my needs, but that appears to be labelled as a "beta".
Coincidentally, I also need a new land-line 'phone.
Looking on the 'net, I find various skype phones and dual-use
phones. How do I find out whether any of these 'phones support
the "skype prime" services?

| | Configuring Zoom5800 for sipgate? by
Dr Zoidberg
Hi there.
I've signed up for a sipgate account and tested it using their softphone on
my laptop.
The voice quality was acceptable so I bought a Zoom 5800 ATA from play.com
as I've seen them mentioned as being ok.
The only trouble is that there aren't any instructions on sipgate's site for
this adaptor and the settings it mentions doesn't seem to match what I'm
asked for.

| | Fritz box by
Nigel
Sorry another couple of questions about the box:-
Is there a way to limit the bandwidth you want one of the LAN socket to
use?? say 256Kb for Lan socket B?
Is the firewall switched on even though I am not using the box as a modem?
If it is not will I be liable to attacks form the internet. I have a
firewall in my computer but not in the cable modem.
Thanks

| | Fritz box by
Nigel
Hi,
Is there any way to make the fritz box to ignore the first 4 digits a
telephone connected up to the fritz box dials. The reason I ask is that the
phone I have is pre-set to Austrian Telecom so it dials out '1001' in front
of every telephone number!!
Can you do that in the dialling rules?
Any ideas.

| | Porting Vonage to voip.co.uk by
Herman
Just a bit of information for any who have ported numbers from Vonage to
voip.co.uk.
I had about 3 or 4 calls today from numbers I didn't recognise followed by a
call from Vonage tech support. I believe that Vonage have re-allocated my
ported number, as their system did not realise it had been ported away.
The next step which is very likely to happen of course is for them to try to
grab...

| | voipcheap com - limitation? by
Herman
I am using vc com mainly through my ATA, but for routing of some calls via
Voxalot (so I can change the dialstring). Although Voxalot doesn't register
with VC I have always been able to place outbound calls this way. However
this doesn't seem to work now.
Is anyone else having these issues? Is it linked to VC com's recent
inclusion of the words "per unique IP address" in the Freecalls T&Cs? ...

| | Number portability again by
Joe Harrison
I want to get rid of my NTL line as it's costing me 12.50 a month but I do
want to keep the number (itself originally ported to NTL from BT.)
Sipgate help pages say you can't port to them (why?) so does anyone know of
any other VOIP provider who will accept the number? I heard Gradwell might.
Any other ideas how I can do this?

| | Sipgate problems today - Clavox opiniion not required by
Rob
I realise I'm tempting fate, but here goes.
Is anybody else having problems with their Sipgate accounts not registering
today? Mine all seem to be doing just that ATM, and my ISP (PlusNet) have
made an announcement to the effect that at least some of their customers are
also failing to be able to get to the Sipgate sites.
I'm just wondering if this a general Sipgate problem which is affecting

| | Detailed Linksys PAP2T documentation _must_ exist. by
Ian Richardson
Dear all,
I'm trying to get some decent documentation out of Linksys on the PAP2T.
The manual is about as useful as toilet paper for a fish.
I've been on hold for 30 minutes to their 0800 technical support number,
and I can understand why. When I did get through their assistance was
nothing more than another 30 minutes of we will _not_ help you! In fact,
the person I was speaking to reacted...

| | Unlocking the Netgear TA612Vsp by
John
Hi,
I am looking for some help & advise. I have just brought a second hand
Netgear TA612V which is locked to Sipgate, from what I can tell they all
are, but I see on the Sipgate web site there is a link to unlocking the
device with "open Firmware".

My questions:
1) If I unlock the device this way how easy is it to...
