Q: When on mute, voipfone drops the call after 5 minutes ??? by damn-it
Guys, I have this weird problem. I just got my snom 300, via voipfone, and during a conference call, were I was on mute, my phone simply ended the communication after a while (about 5 minutes). This already happened few times, and basically make voipfone unusable on conference call... Had a chat with their support and the answer was as follow:

Setting a personal VoIP network by akarui.tomodachi@gmail.com
Hi: I am thinking of creating a "dedicated personal VoIP network" to connect my parent's home phone (in India) with mine in Canada. I have a very little knowledge about the VoIP technology, but after a brief research, my undersatnding about the architechture of the VoIP is as below: phone--PC--gateway--internet--gateway--PC--phone ==== Canada ==== ===== India =====

Skype / SIP by mr deo
Hi all, I do try to read from time to time but I only get the few mins to look into this stuff in detail. My question is simple really, what will I get better "Quality" with.. Skype or SIPservices. I will be using the Skyepin/Sipin type of service and I find that the prices are really similar, so ignoring that there are several companys, how does the standard type of SIP services compare in...

Is there a really good WiFi phone? by ogoja
I am interested in exploring a wifi phone, but all the reviews of the models I have looked at sound pretty negative. Has anyone had a satisfying experience - and if so with what model? Thanks.

VOIP.CO.UK - Out of service - Anyone else? by Roger Baker
Wednesday morning at 06:30. Two voip.co.uk accounts, both from different locations, unable to log on to the voip.co.uk service. Both using different ISP's and accounts. Looks like some outage to a previously perfect service. Roger.

Advice please getting Voip to work. by harrogate3
Greetings, I have just signed up with voip.co.uk and pending getting an ATA I'm trying to use the X-Lite softphone (also I note supplied with Sipgate.) Curiously it works perfectly with incoming calls - ringing, good both way audio, clears down OK - but I cannot, try as I may, get it to work outgoing. When I cold start X-Lite the screen shows 'discovering network' and then a few seconds later...

Clarification on T.38 fax operation by Linker3000
Hi Folks, Would someone enlighten me: I am not having much luck with a Brother laser/fax machine hooked up to a Draytek 2600VG router. I am with voip.co.uk, who claim full T.38 compatibility. I have ticked the T.38 fax option on the Router and although I can see a

forwarding a forwarded call.. by Steve R
uk2number have 0845 numbers that are free to divert to a voip number or a uk landline. Now if I point this 0845 number to a voip number and then forward my voip number to a mobile , should this work? The advantages are obvious. The rate to forward the 0845 directly to a mobile is 25p / minute and I think there are a lot cheaper voip options. Thanks, Steve

Without broadband, no voip, right ? Anyway there are enough people moaning about this and that ISP being crap, so here's a chance to rate yours on a "popular" tv show... http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/broadband_survey.shtml

Voice delay (beginner question) by chrisips2@gmail.com
Hi I use Voipfone and FWD mainly for my voice calls. If I call someone in the UK (I live in the UK) using Voipfone all is well. If I use fwd to call someone in the UK there is a very slight delay. This can be demonstrated using a UK echo test with both Voipfone and FWD. My question is, why should there be a sound delay using a US service. I understood that whilst the call set-up is in the US...

Is Barablu SIP compatible by Salvador Freemanson
Hello, I've just come accross Barablu. But their web site is full of PR hype with no real tech info. As far as I can tell, it is a VOIP client for mobile phones. But is it yet another propretary system like Skype, MSN et al, or is it based on something standard like SIP ?

SPA3102 Setup by Port Admiral Haynes
I have a Linksys SPA3102 on its way to me. I am going to use it with VoipDicount. At the moment I am using VopiDiscount via a Linksys PAP2T (see my previous post "Starting Again") but now want to integrate my BT Line. Setting up the SPA3102 to use VoipDiscount will not be a problem as there are some configuration settings on their page. However I want to set it up so that all landline...

Help needed configuring voip.co.uk by Matt
Hi. I'm struggling to get my Siemens Gigaset working with Voip.co.uk's settings. I've tried an old account with Voiptalk and that works. The handset says "Not available" when I try to make a call. I also can't receive a call. I've entered the settings in the browser, and it appears to find the servers ok. I know this because if I get something wrong, it quite correctly says "SIP...

Gudiance on unlocked VOIP adapters by harrogate3
Anyone have experience of unlocked VOIP adapters for use with a 'normal' phone? I wish to use voip.co.uk but all of the adapters that I can find - and that I think includes their own - are locked to the one system and usually sell at rip-off prices. I would like to get an unlocked unit such that if I change provider it is not a problem. --

a decent voip / adsl / wifi router by Steve R
Hi, I am looking to get a new adsl router and wondered if anyone could recommend one. I need adsl modem and wifi built in with the facility to connect a standard (DECT) phone for use with an as yet to be decided voip service. I don't want to spend more than 100 gbp if possible. Can anyone recommend one? In addition I need a voip service that would work well with the above set
