Downloading the configuration from PAP2T -- spaconf.exe by Stan
It's possible that anyone has a long enough memory might possible recall that I posted here about a PAP2T which I had connected to iConnectHere (aka DeltaThree) in November, and that connecting to that company made the ATA become useless. If nobody remembers, the previous centence is an adequate reprise. iConnectHere is an exceedingle small company, and it did nothing since them, except...

Cheap Chinese (ATA's) on Ebay - Any good for simple use? by Roger Baker
I have an account with voip.co.uk and subscribe to their £1.99 a month service. My mum is getting older now but has broadband as she tends to be a bit of a 'silver surfer'. I seem to be making an increasing number of calls to her these days and she likes to chat to her friends during the week. The voip.co.uk option of 2p for up to one hour during peak periods would seem to suit her and also...

Starting Again! by Port Admiral Haynes
First I used Skype but then as I wanted to have something more flexible I decided to try "proper" VOIP. My wife has relatives in Singapore and Malaysia so after a bit of research I chose VoipDiscount as my outgoing call provider. I chose (wrongly I now think) a Linksys PAP2T as my ATA as it was cheap. It has two ports and so I have a DECT phone for VOIP outgoing calls, a DECT phone for...

Siemens C460IP Firmware by Tim
Hi, Siemens have released new firmware. Version: 010570000000 / 038.00 It now supports RFC 2833 DTMF - something a lot of people have been waiting for. Also, you get a free SIP server care of gigaset.net - not quite worked out how that works yet, but you can disabled it in the web interface.

Fritzbox questions: Callthrough etc. by Brian A
I am considering purchasing a Fritzbox Fon 7140. As I will, initially at least, be using a cable modem, this wil mean I lose an ethernet socket. Hence the preference over the 7050. I have checked out the manuals for the Fritzbox Fon, Fritzbox Fon 7050, Fritzbox Fon 7140. In the 100+ pages of each of the pdf manuals I can see no mention of Speed dials or callthrough, even though they

ENUM server for private ENUM by kael
Hi, Is it possible to create a private ENUM service to get a unified address book ? Users would get an ENUM ID, associate their SIP, XMPP, etc URI and their contacts could access to the ENUM tree only after that an authorization has be granted. Is there any open-source server for (private) ENUM ?

Sipgate German local numbers by Jupiter
A friend of mine has relatives in Germany so when registering with Sipgate he chose the option of a German number for incoming/outgoing PSTN calls. The number allocated is 0048 1801 ************ German 01801 numbers appear to be like our 0845 numbers, i.e. 'shared cost' I can't call his German number from the UK as I get a recorded message 'this number is not available' as soon as 1801 is...
