| | Caller ID - Another "can it be done" by
Pete @ www.GymRatZ.co.uk
Trying to work out a method of having something other than an
"international" or mobile no. caller ID from voipcheap.com and a few
ideas hit me.
Firstly I tried sending a verification text to my voipfone free text
mobile number..... still waiting for it to come through.
Then I thought... Why not send a text to the geo. number on my voip
service... chances are it wouldn't take a text,...

| | Two VoIP phones in parallel by
Martin Evans
Is it possible to connect two IP phones within the same premises in
some way so that both can make and receive calls on the same 'line' or
does it require additional equipment such as a mini PABX?
The phones are a Linksys SPA-921 and a Siemens C460 IP if that has any
bearing on the implementation.

| | Problems dialling with Linksys 2012 and BT Inspiration phone system by
speckled hen
Hi all
Not sure if anyone can help with a problem I have with my 2012.
I have a 2012 connected to netgear router, the phone port of the 2012
is presented as an exchange line onto my BT inspiration phone system.
The problem I am having is unless I dial slowly from any of the phones
on my phone system the call will fail. If I dial slow and precise the
call will be successfull.
Other than dialing...

| | Two colleagues - simple VOIP between PCs by
Andrew
I want a link between myself and colleague. We both have ADSL connections
with fixed IP addresses. Is there a straightward way of linking two VOIP
'phones (or PCs if not) without needing a service provider?
My preference would be to use two VOIP phones.

| | BT call centre strategy by
Sunil Sood
BT has re-emphasised its call centre strategy in the UK and elsewhere
following media coverage of the issue.
The company was responding to a campaigning piece in The Mail on
Sunday that tried to persuade companies to bring call centres back to
the UK.
BT's managing director of customer service Duncan Ingram says 32 of BT
Retail's 34 contact centres are already in the UK and that £105
million...

| | Newbie Question - about using a DECT SIP phone and port forwarding ? by
Roger Baker
Could any kind soul please explain something to a total newbie.
I am considering getting the Samsung C460IP DECT VOIP phone. I already
have an account with voip.co.uk. I believe that the C460IP can be used
with the DHCP server in my ADSL Modem/Router to have an IP address on
my local network dynamically allocated. So far so good.
Having studied this group for some months I see posts about...

I have installed v2.0 of Trixbox.
I want to be able to program 'Custom Apps'.
I have Googled and all I can find is ready written custom apps and
that is not what I am looking for. I know nothing about the
programming/implementation of 'custom apps' so, what I want to do is
learn how to do it so I can set up the Trixbox to do what I want it to
do.
Can anyone point me to a source that will explain...
