News Reader
Hi,
Please, forgive my enquiring on this point (again), however, I am now quite
seriously thinking about switching to a primary VoIP ATA configuration and
wish to try and identify the best (priced) all UK landline calls inclusive

Please advise all known candidates - emphasising those which are cheap cheap

Any opinions on the GIZMO project from experts here?
I was wondering about its use with a Nokia 770.
Any concerns about security or privacy etc.?
Any catches?
Better or worse than Skype or Google Talk?

| | VOIPcheap and PAP2 configuration by
Stan
I have signed up with VOIPcheap, and want now to set up my PAPT2 for
outgoing SIP calls on the service. I have their instructions for doing
this, but am having difficulty in correlating them with what I see in
the PAPT2 configuration screen of the browser interface, as follows:
1) Username -- What username is this? I don't see any such item in the
configuration screens.
2) Password -- I see...

| | VOIPCHEAP and bandwidth use??? by
Stan
It is my understanding that a condition of VOIPCHEAP service is that
they can make use of the subscriber's DSL bandwidth for routing their
other traffic. I am unclear about how this works and its impact on my
use of the DSL connection for non-VOIP purposes. Here are some of the
questions I have:
How much of this freeloading on one's bandwidth do they do?
Does this happen only with...

Anyone know how to get IPKALL to work with VoIPStunt?
I've managed to get VoIPTalk to VoIPStunt to work, but can't seem to get
IPKALL to VoIPStunt to play ball.
Thought about trying IPKALL to VoIPTalk to VoIPStunt, not sure I was
using the correct to VoIPTalk settings, but tried different combinations
but still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas.

| | Sipgate dropped audio - fixed by
{{{{{Welcome}}}}}
After putting in a complaint about the dropped audio, I received an
email asking me to try again the service, and so far so good. Usually
the audio would break up after around 6 - 8 mins and then break up every
4 - 5 mins, but something has obviously been done to fix the problem as
I was able to make a long phone call without any issues.

Hi,
Aldi are selling a VoIP phone for £10 (with £5 credit). Has anyone
tried this?. If so, is it any good?.
Also, I presume this can be used with other VoIP services such as
Skype.

Hey guys
Using a Grandstream 486 (Revision 2) ATA behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router, I
*used* to be able to use Draytel no problem. Now, my incoming PSTN number
is rarely recognised by the telecoms operators, and when it is, I go
straight to voicemail. I am also no longer able to successfully make any
outgoing calls. There have been no configuration changes or firmware
updates. I've never...
