I've been obliged to commit to throwing away my freetalk adapter and
awaiting Motorola VT2442. I know nothing about this unit. My first
question is - is it locked to Vonage or can I use it for other

Second question: Who does the Motorola VT2442 belong to and will I be
able to keep it if I decide to terminate Vonage...

| | SPA3000 Dial Plan Help by
Mr E Mann
Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this dialling plan query...
I want to prefix all UK calls with 141 (to withold the voip number, to save
confusing my parents with another number!), my provider only requires the
area code for calls, not the international format, and I want to be able to
dial local numbers without having to put the 01933 area code in first -
hence I have the...

^^artnada^^
As Freetalk are moving over to Vonage, and pretty soon the Freetalk box will
be as good as a door stop, can it be unlocked to use with any other Sip
provider, e.g. Sipgate?
If so, anyone like to advise me how to do it?

| | SPA-3000 PSTN doesn't ring by
Turandot
I bought a SPA-3000, setup line1 with voipstunt, connected a Philips
cordless phone to the phone port, linked the line port to BT socket. When I
call my BT number, the phone doesn't ring. I used the spa-3000 monitor
software found on the net and it showed line1 is registered, PSTN not
registered, voltage 51V.

| | GSM gateways with SIP by
paul123
I've recently been browsing ebay looking for these devices, with a
vague idea of finding something that'll do for GSM calls what the
SPA3000 does for PSTN calls, ie integrate as a trunk on a PBX
(specifically Aterisk - Trixbox) for inward and outbound calls.
After some digging around, it seems that, like ATAs, there is quite a
lot of difference in what these devices can and can't do.......

| | Voipcheap calls no longer free by
Mr_J®
Just noticed today, when ringing a landline number the calls from my
Voipcheap service are now being charged at 1p/min, the call rates on the
voipcheap website have also been ammended to show the new call rates, looks
like the 120 day limit on the credit has gone now as well as the free calls.
oh well that was good while it lasted i suppose.

news
I have a standalone SNOM 300 (i.e. no Asterisk in the background). I
want to set up an entry in the address book to dial a number, pause
until that number replies, then dial a second number.
Can I do this in SNOM?
I have tried separating the two numbers in the address book entry with
commas (just like we used to with modems!), but that doesn't work. Also,
SNOM says FORBIDDEN if the address...

I've just upgraded my AVM Fritz!Box Fon (non-wireless version) to the
latest firmware (06.04.17) and ever since the LED that indicates a VoIP

irregular; sometimes it will come on for a second or two then go off for
the same period of time, then it might come on for 5 seconds then off for

| | ATA: 2 exts with one PSTN and several SIP by
Chris Davies
I'm interested in an ATA with two internal extension ports and one
(analogue) PSTN connection. I'd like one of the internal ports always to
default to the PSTN line, but allow routing via at least one SIP provider
given some particular key sequence prefix (e.g. #001*, or whatever). The
other should default to one of the SIP providers, but allow routing via
either PSTN or any of the other SIP...

| | voipcheap.com and voipcheap.co.uk - comparison by
Paul
I've just noticed that voipcheap.co.uk has begun charging 1p per minute for
calls to UK landlines (was 'free' until a few days ago and nobody warned
me). You clearly need to check the rates firms like this are charging every
day - before making calls - as otherwise they can hike up the price and you
don't realise they are not so 'cheap' any more, until it's too late!
Voipcheap.com is still...

| | spa3000 PSTN call to all spa9000 phones by
discoverlinux
I can use the spa3000 divert all calls feature to divert to one
extension on the spa9000 pbx e.g. 100, but I want all 4 extns to
ring. The incoming VOIP calls can do that using spa9000 Contact List
= 100-103. Is it possible?

| | VOIP Confusion by
Ian Pollard
Hi
I am actively pursuing swapping our home phone service to
voip. I have had a look around and found voip.co.uk seem to be
offering a reasonable price with a decent level of service. One major
confusion is my telephone number. Is it possible to retain my present
BT number and use voip. I am finding the answers rather confusing. You
see, I am using that number for my ADSL line from BT and cannot...
