| | Betamax spam email by
Graham
I got this email today (twice).
I have never signed up for a Freecall account.
The email addresses to which they were sent were the ones I submitted when I
applied for two SipDiscount accounts.
I always use uniquely formatted email addresses so I know this for sure.

| | Sipura 3000 by
Philippe Deleye
I have a Sipura 3000 which I did not use for more than 1 year, as I switched
to the german-made Fritz Box
Of course, after 1 year I forgot all about setting up this Sipura ;)
Now I wanted to install this Sipura device in my doughters student room,
where she has broadband
Altough the Sipura 3000 has 2 phone ports (FSX, FSO or 1 line and 1 phone
connector) it is not the intention to conncet to a...

| | Betamax not hanging up after phonecall by
Scope
Hi,
Has anybody else experienced Betamax companies (esp. VoipDiscount) not
hanging up the call after it is finished? I am mainly interested in
people using the their website to connect two phone calls.. Somebody I
know is having a problem whereby after disconnecting the landline is not
hung up, and they dont get a dialtone. It has happened a few times,
but this time they dont seem to get...

| | provider recommendations by
Carl Warnell
Having used Skype for some time I'd like to get into "proper" VoIP. I
have a Draytek Vigor 2900VG router with QoS and a pair of voice ports,
so I'm looking for a VoIP provider. I'll primarily be using this for
conference calls when working from home, so the following requirements
are important:
Free calls to UK geographic numbers
Free (or cheap if free isn't possible) calls to Germany and...

| | Newbie experience on Tesco service by
Bernard
The short version... Don't bother ! There are cheaper... much cheaper
options that are very straightforward to set up and use !!!
Now for the longer version...
Not having seriously checked on what voip had to offer, prices and how
it worked in practice, I thought I'd buy a headset from Tesco to give
that a try. Getting it set-up and using it was straightforward so,
having nearly used all the...

| | Voiptalk CallerID issue by
paul123
Calling out via voiptalk (with a Cambridge geographic number), the
person receiving the call sees my caller ID as an 02071062924 number,
which is nothing to do with my numbers....
Configuring my brother-in-law's voiptalk (Bristol) account into my
trixbox and then dialling out on that produces the same Caller ID being
sent to the person receiving the call, ie 02071062924.
Anyone else getting the...

| | JPL Webphone 2 and Voipstunt by
Sacred
Hi All
I have the JPL web phone 2 working fine with Voipstunt but cannot make the
keypad on the phone interact with Voipstunt. I assume that this is a driver
issue.
There is a sriver disk with it but the list of services on it does not
include Voipstunt.
Any help on this appreciated

| | Using Asterisk to simulate an ISDN2e line by
Ron Wellsted
I am trying to get 2 Asterisk servers to communicate over an ISDN2e line.
Each is running Asterisk 1.2.10 + Bristuff driving a HFC-S chipset BRI
card. One is configured as bri_net_ptmp, the other as bri_cpe_ptmp.
I have built a crossover cable wired as
(Rx+) 3 ------ 4 (Tx+)
(Tx+) 4 ------ 3 (Rx+)
(Tx-) 5 ------ 6 (Rx-)

| | Asterisk and voicemail permission problem by
Tinus
Hello all,
Maybe some of you are Asterisk experts and can help me with my problem.
I'm a Linux newbie but I've managed to install Fedora Core 5 on a Via EPIA
EN15000 board.
I've compiled Asterisk (version 1.2.10) succesfully and I'm running Asterisk
with user asterisk and group asterisk. If I start asterisk with
asterisk -vvvvvvvvvvgc then all is well, no problems are reported.

Just a quickie for you experts here!
If I buy a secondhand 486 Handytone that is specifically mentioned as a

Cheers

| | QoS on Dlink router by
tkd
Has anyone any experience of setting up QoS for VOIP (in this case a SPA2002
with Sipgate) on a DLink router? I have the DSL-G624T. There is a QoS tab
with options "PortMapping QoS" and "IP QoS" (by ToS, Application and User
Define). I've tried fiddling with the settings of each (its undocumented in
the user guide) but without a satisfactory result. Does anyone have a clear
idea what the...

| | Orange Livebox Phone Adaptor - Help by
allan tracy
I've just signed up for free Orange Broadband (free that is provided
you spend 30 quid a month on a mobile).
Their Livebox came with a phone adaptor which basically seems to allow
a normal telephone to plug in one end and the other to plug into a
standard Ethernet socket on their Livebox so you can then make free
VOIP calls.
Our cat took a liking to this adaptor and was last seen running out...

| | Freecalls - 5 Free Hours - Which quickly reduces to about 5 minutes! lol by
News Reader
Hi,
Interested by the earlier post of paul 123 - "FreeCall 5 hour giveaway" I
thought I would try Finarea / Betamax's latest offering.
Enjoyably it appeared to work as might be hoped for the first few calls
(over 1 minute duration, permitted direct calls , etc.). However, quite soon the calls were refused (total
call time used believed to be ~ 5 minutes total) and I was offered to be
redirected...
